Private educational institutions to operate Government schools in the new model

The UAE’s top private schools will operate public schools according to the new education system. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, announced that the ‘Ajyal Schools’ or ‘Generation Schools’ model would target 10 schools during the first year.

The Emirates Schools Establishment will implement the new system in government schools from the academic year 2022 – 2023. The system will be applied to grades one to four under the supervision of the Emirates Schools Establishment and in partnership with the private education sector. Changes in the Ministry of Education

The government of UAE appointed new ministers to re-evaluate the current teaching methods and improve the quality of life for youngsters in state schools.

Sarah Al Amiri is appointed as the Minister of State for Public Education and Future Technology and Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Schools Establishment. Reflecting upon the new system, Sarah Al Amiri said, “the Ajyal Schools system aligns with the Emirates Schools Establishment efforts to develop distinct and advanced education models, serve the development and modernization plans pursued by the establishment to improve the quality of its educational outputs. The positive outputs of the new project will reflect on the educational system in the country, by enhancing its quality, the efficiency of teachers, and the skills and capabilities of students, under the framework of a futuristic educational vision, based on various educational models that suit each region and emirate in the UAE.”

She added, “The application of this advanced educational model comes in line with the UAE’s directives to enhance the quality of education, sustain the development process to enrich the students’ experience in the public education sector, and enhance the quality of their education and skill acquisitions in line with the UAE’s aspirations.”

The new and improved education model

The Ajyal Schools model will create a more advanced learning curriculum by combining national and international curricula. The national curriculum will include the Arabic language, Islamic studies, and social studies. And on the other hand, the international curriculum will consist of subjects such as mathematics and science.

Parental Contracts

As part of the new system, schools will sign a “partnership contract” with parents to help strengthen the relationship between families and schools and help students achieve their full potential. For the first year, the Emirates School Establishment will implement the new system in a few selected schools in different regions of the country. Experienced private educational institutions will operate the schools.

Tuition

The majority of students in public schools are Emiratis, and the government of the UAE will continue to pay the fees.
